Spirit week ... ecco alcuni scatti

Great fun during the Erasmus "Spirit Week” at “San Giovanni Bosco” school of Catania

From December 10th to 14th our ordinary school activity was enriched by bizarre tones of the "Erasmus spirit". As we know, our school is involved in three Erasmus.The "Spirit Week" was carried out within the Eurotour project, Engage Explore Evolve, with the participation of France, Denmark, Turkey, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

During the week, we also took the opportunity to intertwine Erasmus activities with those of the CCR (City Council of Children) coordinated by middle-school and primary classes teachers, organizing a "sweet fair” in the premises of our institute with the participation of nursery and primary school pupils and their families.  Everybody was happy to take part to the event and pupils’ mums prepared all kinds of cakes and desserts to be sold at the fair. This event, as arranged during the Learning Teaching and Training meeting held in Copenhagen during the week from 6 to 12 October, had a great echo for the entire school community who was about to experience this “special” week... "Why so special?" Let’s start and you will under stand!!!

Starting from Monday 10th December at 8 o’ clock sharp all students and teachers were present wearing colourful pyjamas, bizarre slippers and someone dared to cuddle his or her favourite puppet! Teachers and students had a great fun especially when they took pictures in the school courtyard. The girls proudly showed their lively nightwears: unicorns, various hoods, teddy bears and colours, lots of colours in the corridors of the school. After such an exciting start, students and teachers appreciated the right atmosphere and groups of youngsters, parents and teachers were ready to arrange the whole week in the best way.

The following day the various classes were dressed in one colour, chosen and agreed in advance by the participants ... black was the winner!!!

Without any doubt, the third day of the "spirit week" was the one which drew students’ attention the most, as we can easily understand by the title of it…"Crazy Hair". Teachers and students in perfect coloured hair or wearing wigs stroke funny poses for their photos…… After all, the key word of the day was just “crazy”, and everybody was crazy enough to fully enjoy that day.

The last two days of the “Spirit week 2018” were"disco day" and "Twins day". Little girls dressed in perfect "disco" style with a lot of make-up to make themselves look even better to go to disco and dance on the floor and little boys in jackets and ties danced like John Travolta in the "Saturday night fever "movie to please their teachers who took photos during that hilarious moment. On Friday 14th, at the end of the Erasmus week, the twin students wore the same outfits in pairs. The last shots are the proof that our students are proud of their school and they consider the Erasmus projects of their school a real privilege. Our students, as the Headmaster, Prof. Pappalardo Valeria says, live in a hard context, but, despite this fact, they want to live new experiences and have more opportunities like those mentioned above.

Le bizzarrie della “Spirit week” alla San Giovanni Bosco di Catania

Immaginate lo sgomento nei freschi volti degli studenti della scuola secondaria del nostro istituto quando viene loro comunicato che durante la settimana dal 10 al 14 dicembre l’attività didattica sarebbe stata arricchita da toni fantasiosi e bizzarri dettati dallo “spirito Erasmus”. Come già più volte sottolineato, il nostro istituto è coinvolto in ben tre progetti Erasmus plus KA2. La “Spirit week” è stata svolta in seno al progetto Eurotour, Explore Evolve di cui, a parte il nostro Paese, sono paesi partecipanti la Francia, la Danimarca, la Turchia, l’Ungheria e la Repubblica Ceca.

Ma visto che noi non ci fermiamo un solo attimo, abbiamo anche colto l’occasione per far intrecciare le attività Erasmus con quelle del CCR (Consiglio Comunale dei Ragazzi)  della scuola secondaria e delle classi quinte di scuola primaria, organizzando una “golosa” fiera del dolce nei locali del nostro istituto con il coinvolgimento degli scolari della scuola dell’infanzia e primaria e le loro famiglie che hanno accolto con entusiasmo l’iniziativa preparando torte e dessert di ogni sorta, poi destinati alla vendita rivolta agli studenti stessi.

L’iniziativa suddetta, così come stabilito durante il Learning Teaching and Training meeting svoltosi a Copenaghen durante la settimana dal 6 al 12 ottobre 2018, ha avuto una grande eco per tutta la comunità scolastica che ha ancor più vissuto con brio una settimana un “tantinello” particolare. “Perché così particolare?” ci chiediamo… 

 La spiegazione giunge immediata: lunedì 10 dicembre già alle 08:00 nelle varie classi allievi e docenti sono presenti indossando coloratissimi pigiami, bizzarre pantofole e qualcuno osa perfino coccolare il pupazzo preferito, compagno fedele delle lunghe notti. I ragazzi ed i docenti sorridono, si divertono ed al momento in cui bisogna posare per gli immancabili scatti da documentare sulla pagina Facebook del suddetto progetto, l’ilarità arriva al punto massimo.

  Le ragazzine esibiscono con orgoglio tenute da notte vivacissime: unicorni, cappucci vari, orsetti e colori, tantissimi colori che invadono i corridoi della scuola. Dopo un avvio così entusiasmante, gli alunni ed i docenti sono entrati appieno nell’atmosfera giusta e si notano gruppi di ragazzini, genitori ed insegnanti intenti ad organizzare i look della settimana appena aperta.

Il giorno seguente le varie classi si presentano abbigliate tutte con un unico colore, scelto e concordato preventivamente e con scrupolo dai partecipanti … ed è il nero che la fa da padrone. Le foto testimoniano appunto l’accurata organizzazione che sta dietro all’esibizione finale.

Senza alcun dubbio, la terza giornata della settimana “spirit” è quella che ha impegnato maggiormente i partecipanti, visto il tema proposto, cioè “Crazy hair”. Le capigliature più svariate e bizzarre sono state immortalate: chiome di tutti i colori possibili ed immaginabili scorrazzavano nei corridoi con immancabili risate soprattutto rivolte a chi ha avuto l’ardire di osare indossando buffe parrucche che hanno strappato una risata anche al più serio dei partecipanti. In fondo la parola chiave della giornata è stata proprio “crazy” (pazzo), ed una sana “pazzia” goliardica ha allietato un ordinario e freddo mercoledì di dicembre presso la nostra comunità studentesca.

 Non meno coinvolgenti ed entusiasmanti sono state le ultime due giornate della spirit week 2018 con tema “disco day” e “Twins day”. Ormai l’intera scolaresca è appieno entrata in questo minuzioso meccanismo organizzativo ed i risultati sono impeccabili. Ragazzine abbigliate in perfetto stile “disco” con tanto di delicato make up per rendere ancora più appropriato il look per buttarsi in pista e ballare. E vogliamo parlare dei giovanotti, alcuni dei quali con giacche e cravatte e capelli “gellati” che improvvisano mosse di ballo alla “Staying alive” di John Travolta per compiacere le docenti che fotografano e per rendere ancor più divertente il momento. Il venerdì 14 vede la conclusione della settimana dello “spirit week” Erasmus e, per concludere in bellezza, gli studenti si presentano a coppie con medesimi outfit scrupolosamente abbinati. Gli ultimi scatti ci danno un’immagine ridente di questi adolescenti che hanno vissuto con impegno l’iniziativa di un progetto che considerano un reale privilegio della loro scuola, una scuola che come più volte è stato sottolineato dalla Dirigente 

Scolastica, Prof.ssa Pappalardo Valeria, opera su un territorio difficile, ma chiede e pretende giorno dopo giorno nuove opportunità di riscatto ed un ruolo guida in un ampio scenario europeo.

I ragazzi ed i loro docenti che hanno attivamente partecipato, ringraziano sentitamente la Dirigente Scolastica che si spende per far sì che momenti così importanti vengano condivisi assieme.
